Looking to buy an FRS

Curious as to whether a 2013 frs would be a good purchase as my first car, I race snowmobiles and would like to get into a sporty feeling car, would also be interested in possibly adding some cheap upgrades to improve looks and power, was curious if anyone has used one of these plug in tuners and if they actually do anything? any recommendations and thoughts help!
